What is a pre-order?
Pre-order means that the listing is available for a limited amount of time and the yarn is not yet ready to ship. Pre-ordered yarn will be dyed after the order window closes and orders will be shipped based on the timeline noted in the pre-order listing. You can check the status of a pre-order collection’s production on the Pre-order Status page. We do not accept returns or exchanges on pre-ordered yarn, unless it does not meet your expectations. Please see our return policy below.
What are the care instructions for your yarn?
We suggest using a no rinse wool wash with lanolin and cool water, then blocking. Follow the instructions on your wool wash for best results.
What bases do you offer?

What is your return policy?
I do not accept returns, however my goal is your 100% satisfaction and joy when you receive and work with my yarn! If you are not completely satisfied, please reach out via email or the contact form here.
Where do you ship?
We ship around the world, (excluding the EU and NI) but if you're in the UK you'll need to email me to place an order. Email: dyeingwishesyarn@gmail.com or use the contact form here.
All customs, import taxes and fees are the responsibility of the customer.
Shipping outside of the US is running about 2-5 weeks from point A to point B. Please be patient with shipping timelines. Once your package leaves my hands it is out of my control.
Do you offer local order pick up?
Yes! We offer in person pick up at the studio in Tariffville CT. Select the pick up option at checkout only if you're able to make it to the studio to do so. Pick up is available by appointment only. Please wait until you receive the email stating that your order is ready for pick up, then reply to that email to schedule your pick-up. Please not that, unfortunately, there is not an elevator in the building where my studio is located, and I am on the second floor. I'm so sorry for this inconvenience.
What happens if my package is lost or damaged in transit?
Every order is shipped with added insurance to cover the value of the contents. In the event that your order is lost or damaged in shipping you'll need to file a claim with USPS. I am not responsible for any packages that are lost or damaged in transit.
Do you offer wholesale?
Yes! We’d love to get our yarn into your shop!! Please send us an email for more information: dyeingwishesyarn@gmail.com
Are your shipping materials Eco-friendly?
Yes! Please do your best to remove the shipping label and any tape before recycling.
To help reduce our carbon footprint, please recycle!
Are your pictures edited?
Our pictures are only edited to show the colors correctly. We do not oversaturate and we use natural lighting whenever possible. However, different screens will show colors differently so please keep this in mind.
Does your yarn come in dye lots?
No. The beauty of hand-dyed yarn is that each skein is unique!! While the dyeing techniques are the same for each skein in a colorway, there will be subtle variations between skeins. Because of this, it is always recommended to alternate skeins in a project that use 2 or more.
What are 'Tails from the Crypt'?
'Tails from the Crypt' are beautiful, one of a kind skeins that are either from a mistake batch, a colorway test batch, or the result of using up leftover dyes. They are not replicable, but they are unique and lovely and perfect!!
What are 'Minipedes'?
Minipedes are cute little 20 gram mini skeins!! I call them Minipedes because I think I’m clever and it fits my vibe :)
Do you take custom orders?
Not at this time.
Is your business smoke and pet free?
All yarn is dyed/stored in a smoke free, pet free environment. I do have a cat and a dog at home and their hairs love to travel to work with me so there is a very small chance of pet hairs getting into your order.
Do you offer an 'anti fat-tax' discount?
YES! I believe that hand dyed yarn should be as accessible as possible. If you are a fat maker you can use the following discount codes to receive a discount on your sweater quantity orders:
ANTIFATTAX10 works for 10% off orders of 6 or more skeins
ANTIFATTAX15 works for 15% off orders of 10 or more skeins
These discount codes are meant to be used for orders of yarn that will be used together in a sweater for fat makers. The option to use the discount on multiple colorways/bases allows fat makers to make colorwork garments and/or garments with yarn held double.
These discounts are offered on the honor system. PLEASE only use these discounts in the nature that they are intended. Abuse of these discounts could result in the loss of this discount for everyone. I am a small business and I cannot afford to allow every order to be discounted. Thank you for your understanding and compliance.
The Fiber Coven - FAQs (terms below)
What is 'The Fiber Coven'?
The Fiber Coven is a monthly membership for lovers of Dyeing Wishes Yarn Co. yarn & fiber. Membership comes with many perks that are explained below.
What are the benefits of being a Coven member?
Members will receive the following items/perks for as long as their membership is active:
-One 100g skein of yarn or 4oz braid of spinning fiber per month, on your choice of base, of an exclusive Coven Colorway of the Month, only available to members.
-10% off all orders placed online, including additional Coven Colorway of the Month skeins/braids, pre-orders, in stock items, Dyed to Order yarn, and purchases made at fiber festivals. Destash yarn is excluded from this discount.
-Early access to all pre-orders and in stock updates.
-A chance to earn a $30 gift card once per 12 month period.

What bases/blends are offered?
This will depend on the colorway for a given month. I will choose the bases/blends that showcase a Coven Colorway of the Month well and that are seasonally appropriate.

What is the return policy?
The Fiber Coven membership dues and Coven Colorway of the Month orders are non-refundable. If you have any issues or concerns, please email me at dyeingwishesyarn@gmail.com
Can I combine my 10% off discount with the 'anti fat-tax' discount?
Anti fat-tax discounts are equal to or greater than The Fiber Coven discounts, therefore they are not combinable.
Can I combine my 10% off discount with sales and promotions?
The Fiber Coven fully replaces sales and promotions going forward. The only way to receive perks and discounted yarn is through The Fiber Coven membership.
What if I'm not feeling the Coven Colorway of the Month?
This is bound to happen! If you're not feeling a Coven Colorway of the Month in a given month then you can defer your skein/braid for that month and roll it over by emailing me at dyeingwishesyarn@gmail.com

Can I skip a month or pause my membership?
No. Skipping or pausing is not possible. However, you can cancel your membership. If you choose to cancel your membership you will be unable to rejoin unless initiations are open.

Will the Coven Colorway of the Month be a mystery?
No. This is not intended to be a mystery or themed yarn club. This is a membership with benefits. The Coven Colorway of the Month will be revealed in full color before its pre-order opens.

Can I order additional Coven Colorway of the Month skeins/braids?
Yes. You can purchase as many additional skeins/braids as you'd like, on any of the bases/blends offered. Your entire Coven Colorway of the Month purchase will be 10% off, excluding your one included skein/braid.
Coven Colorway of the Month orders also ship for free within the US. There is a small upcharge for international shipping.

I'm not a The Fiber Coven member - can I order the Coven Colorway of the Month?
No. Coven Colorways of the Month are exclusively available to The Fiber Coven members each month. Coven Colorways of the Month will be unavailable to non-coven members for one full year, at minimum.
How do I earn the $30 gift card?
The Fiber Coven members will receive a membership card with their first Coven Colorway of the Month order in a 12 month period. This membership card will have spots to place Insignias. For each month that you are a member and that you order your Coven Colorway of the Month skein/braid, you'll receive an Insignia with your order. Collect the Insignias of 12 consecutive months and place them on your membership card. Once you've got all 12, send a picture of your full card to dyeingwishesyarn@gmail.com to receive your gift card code.

What is the monthly cost?
The Fiber Coven monthly dues are $45 which will be automatically charged to the payment method on file on the 25th of each month.
The Fiber Coven terms
- Not currently available in the UK, EU, and NI.
- Monthly dues of $45 will be automatically charged to the payment method on file, on the 25th of each month, unless you cancel your membership before then.
- Any customs fees, tariffs, duties, VAT, etc. are the responsibility of the customer.
- You cannot skip you monthly dues, but you can cancel your membership. If you cancel you will not be able to rejoin unless initiations are open.
- The Fiber Coven initiations will open every four months: January, May, & September. You can only join The Fiber Coven while initiations are open.
- The Coven Colorway of the Month will be revealed on Instagram and via email on the 1st of each month. Pre-orders will open that same evening and will stay open for one week. You must order your included skein/braid by following the instructions sent in the email revealing the Coven Colorway of the Month. For your included skein/braid, there will be an upcharge if the base/blend you choose is more than $30. Coven Colorway of the Month orders are expected to ship by the end of the same month in which the orders are placed, but more time may be needed if a lot of yarn/fiber is ordered. Timeline example: pre-order opens 3/1, closes 3/7, orders ship by 3/31.
- Additional skeins/braids of the Coven Colorway of the Month may be purchased at 10% off, during the week that it is available for pre-order. Coven Colorway of the Month orders ship for free within the US. There is a small upcharge for international shipping.
- After all Coven Colorway of the Month orders have been shipped, extras will be available in stock in The Fiber Coven section of the website. Free shipping does not apply to the extras listed as in stock. The extras will automatically be listed at 10% off of the normal retail price.
- Discount codes will only be valid for use with the email address that was used to sign up for membership. If abuse or sharing of passwords/discount codes is found, that member will be immediately removed from The Fiber Coven and permanently banned. Membership dues will not be refunded.
- Members are allowed to defer and roll over a single included skein/braid in a given month if they do not care for the color. Only one skein/braid may be rolled over at a time and that deferred skein/braid must be redeemed within 4 months. To defer or redeem a deferred skein/braid you must email me at dyeingwishesyarn@gmail.com
- Coven members are solely responsible for selecting their monthly skein/braid during the week-long ordering window. A reminder email will be sent on the last day of that ordering window. Dyeing Wishes Yarn Co. cannot be held responsible for missed monthly skein/braid orders. Failure to place your monthly skein/braid order will result in a forfeit of that month's included skein/braid and the insignia that would've come with it. No refunds will be issued for monthly dues.
- 10% off discount codes will be emailed to members on the day of a pre-order/in stock update. If you'd like to order Dyed to Order yarn then you must email me at dyeingwishesyarn@gmail.com to get a discount code.
- Membership discounts are not combinable with other offers or sales. Destash is excluded from this discount.
- Members will need to present their membership card in person at fiber festivals to receive their discount.
- For each month that you are in The Fiber Coven, and that you order your Coven Colorway of the Month skein or braid, you'll receive an Insignia with your order. Collect the Insignias of 12 consecutive months and place them on your membership card. Once you've got all 12, send a picture of your full card to dyeingwishesyarn@gmail.com to receive your gift card code.
