What is a pre-order?
Pre-order means that the listing is available for a limited amount of time and the yarn is not yet ready to ship. Pre-ordered yarn will be dyed after the order window closes and orders will be shipped based on the timeline noted in the pre-order listing. You can check the status of a pre-order collection’s production on the Pre-order Status page. We do not accept returns or exchanges on pre-ordered yarn, unless it does not meet your expectations. Please see our return policy below.
What are the care instructions for your yarn?
We suggest using a no rinse wool wash with lanolin and cool water, then blocking. Follow the instructions on your wool wash for best results.

All customs, import taxes and fees are the responsibility of the customer.
Shipping outside of the US is running about 2-5 weeks from point A to point B. Please be patient with shipping timelines. Once your package leaves my hands it is out of my control.
Do you offer local order pick up?
Yes! We offer in person pick up at the studio in Tariffville CT. Select the pick up option at checkout only if you're able to make it to the studio to do so. Pick up is available on Fridays between 11am and 2pm only. Please wait until you receive the email stating that your order is ready for pick up.
What happens if my package is lost or damaged in transit?
Every order is shipped with added insurance to cover the value of the contents. In the event that your order is lost or damaged in shipping you'll need to file a claim with USPS. I am not responsible for any packages that are lost or damaged in transit.

Are your shipping materials Eco-friendly?
We are currently transitioning to compostable shipping mailers. Please remove all shipping labels and/or tape before composting.
To help reduce our carbon footprint, please recycle!
Are your pictures edited?
Our pictures are only edited to show the colors correctly. We do not oversaturate and we use natural lighting whenever possible. However, different screens will show colors differently so please keep this in mind.
Does your yarn come in dye lots?
No. The beauty of hand-dyed yarn is that each skein is unique!! While the dyeing techniques are the same for each skein in a colorway, there will be subtle variations between skeins. Because of this, it is always recommended to alternate skeins in a project that use 2 or more.
What are 'Tails from the Crypt'?
Formally known as 'Boo Boos', 'Tails from the Crypt' are beautiful, one of a kind skeins that are either from a mistake batch, a colorway test batch, or the result of using up leftover dyes. They are not replicable, but they are unique and lovely and perfect!!
What are 'Minipedes'?
Minipedes are cute little 20 gram mini skeins!! I call them Minipedes because I think I’m clever and it fits my vibe :)
Do you take custom orders?
Not at this time but we are considering doing so in the future.
Is your business smoke and pet free?
All yarn is dyed/stored in a smoke free, pet free environment. I do have a cat and a dog at home and their hairs love to travel to work with me so there is a very small chance of pet hairs getting into your order.
Do you offer an 'anti fat-tax' discount?
YES! I believe that hand dyed yarn should be as accessible as possible. If you are a fat maker you can use the following discount codes to receive a discount on your sweater quantity orders:
ANTIFATTAX10 works for 10% off orders of 6 or more skeins
ANTIFATTAX15 works for 15% off orders of 10 or more skeins
These discount codes are meant to be used for orders of yarn that will be used together in a sweater for fat makers. The option to use the discount on multiple colorways/bases allows fat makers to make colorwork garments and/or garments with yarn held double.
These discounts are offered on the honor system. PLEASE only use these discounts in the nature that they are intended. Abuse of these discounts could result in the loss of this discount for everyone. I am a small business and I cannot afford to allow every order to be discounted. Thank you for your understanding and compliance.
